Keyless entry made cars easier to steal, not harder. A fingerprint immobiliser adds something a thief cannot copy, clone or relay: the driver.
Traditional keys can be copied. Keyless systems can be defeated by relay attacks, where a signal from the key fob inside a house is extended to the car on the drive. In both cases the car sees a valid key and starts.
FlexTor does not rely on the key. The controller interrupts the starter circuit and only releases it after a fingerprint enrolled on that car is matched. There is no fob signal involved in that step, so there is nothing to relay.
Whatever you call it — a biometric immobilizer, fingerprint immobiliser, keyless anti-theft or fingerprint ignition — the principle is the same. The engine will not start until the right person authorises it.
Yes. The standard supply range is 9–24 V DC, which covers 12 V cars and 24 V commercial vehicles.
FlexTor is designed as a retrofit and wires into the starter circuit through a relay, the same way an aftermarket immobilizer is fitted. Tell us the make and model and we will confirm the fit.
The fingerprint check does not involve the key fob signal at all, so a relayed fob signal alone cannot complete it. The car still needs an enrolled fingerprint before the starter circuit is released.
Yes. Multiple drivers can be enrolled and each can be removed individually from the app.
Not for the core unit. Authentication runs on the controller and does not depend on a service or network. The optional SIM/GPRS connection, used for geofencing and remote start and stop, needs a data SIM.
Yes, with the optional SIM/GPRS connection. Connected units support geofencing and remote start and stop.
Send the make, model and year, and where you are. We will confirm the fit and put you in touch with an installer or ship you the kit.
